The claim
NVIDIA will release an RTX 5080 with 24GB of GDDR7 in early 2027, gradually replacing the 16GB model.
Why we rated it Rumor
Single-source report from Taiwan's BenchLife, relayed by VideoCardz and TechPowerUp. Board partners reportedly have only verbal guidance and no design documents yet, so timing is soft. Technically easy: 3GB memory chips on the same 256-bit bus. NVIDIA has not commented. Comes amid tight RTX 5090 supply, which NVIDIA says is constrained but not discontinued.
