The claim
Memory and storage alone will cost Sony about $680 per PS6, pushing the console's price to $1,000 or more.
Why we rated it Rumor
Leaker KeplerL2, who has a decent hardware track record, made the $680 claim on NeoGAF and earlier estimated a $960 bill of materials (in July). The $1,000 price is an inference from those cost estimates plus Sony saying it does not intend to sell hardware at significant losses, not a leaked price. Sony has not said when the PS6 launches or what it costs.
