BYD Seagull (2nd generation, China)

BYD's best-selling small EV gets a bigger, more powerful second generation, reportedly launching in China on Oct 20.

Regulatory filings show it is 425mm longer than before, with a 2,650mm wheelbase, five seats instead of four, a 95kW motor (up from 55kW) and LFP Blade batteries, with optional LiDAR on one version. Pre-orders opened Oct 9. The Oct 20 date comes from Chinese outlet Yiche citing BYD; BYD itself had only said 'before the end of the year'. Some export markets sell the Seagull as the Dolphin Mini or Dolphin Surf.
